The main intent of LED Initiatives is to strengthen the ability of participating LGUs and their LED stakeholder groups to collaboratively identify, plan and implement sustainable local economic development initiatives. The LED Initiatives will support partners to move their strategies into implementation, providing ongoing advice on process, building and maintaining partnerships, and under certain conditions supporting concrete demonstration projects. Some of these initiatives may include:

   1. demonstration projects
   2. business incubators
   3. job skills training
   4. micro and small-enterprises development
   5. pre-feasibility studies on infrastructure investments
   6. cluster development
   7. business area upgrading initiatives
   8. creating LED structures
   9. supporting cooperative development
  10. microfinance promotion
  11. investment promotion
  12. support for the informal economy
  13. sustainable tourism and sustainable agriculture
  14. prosperity councils
  15. investment in natural capital
  16. LGU business process improvements
